The article examines the essence of an enterprise’s human resource potential in the context of digital transformation and sustainable development. The purpose of the study is to generalize theoretical approaches to defining enterprise human resource potential, identify its structural components, and determine its role in ensuring sustainable enterprise development in the digital economy. The methodological framework is based on general scientific and special research methods, including analysis, synthesis, comparison, systematization, logical generalization, and structural-functional analysis. The study substantiates that human resource potential should be considered as a dynamic system integrating employees’ competencies, professional knowledge, digital skills, innovative capabilities, motivation, adaptability, and organizational culture. Digital transformation significantly changes personnel requirements by increasing the importance of digital competencies, continuous learning, knowledge management, and organizational flexibility. Sustainable development principles further enhance the role of human resource potential through social responsibility, employee well-being, inclusiveness, and ethical management. The scientific novelty of the research lies in further developing theoretical approaches to interpreting enterprise human resource potential as a strategic resource that integrates the principles of digital transformation, sustainable development, and competency-based human resource management. The practical significance of the obtained results consists in the possibility of applying the proposed approaches to developing HR strategies, improving competency management systems, implementing digital HR technologies, supporting organizational transformation, and strengthening enterprise competitiveness. The findings may also be used by managers, researchers, and policymakers in designing effective mechanisms for human capital development. Future research should focus on improving methodological approaches to assessing enterprise human resource potential, developing integrated evaluation systems for digital competencies, and investigating the impact of artificial intelligence, digital platforms, and HR analytics on sustainable enterprise development.
