The importance of implementing a business process management mechanism in ensuring the economic security of an enterprise is demonstrated. The lack of existing practices regarding such implementation is highlighted. A “pyramid” of implementing the corresponding mechanism is proposed, with three interconnected levels identified within this pyramid — the implementation principles, tasks, and tools. Fundamental principles of implementing the business process management mechanism in ensuring economic security are proposed and described, including integration of the mechanism into the enterprise management system, interpretative declaration, use of change management tools, encapsulation of the mentioned mechanism, iterative and adaptive nature of implementation, necessity of organizational formalization and subjective determination within the mentioned mechanism, formation of feedback loop, anticipation and overcoming of resistance to change, encompassing both organizational and individual changes. The provisions of the interpretative declaration during the implementation of the business process management mechanism in ensuring the economic security of the enterprise are thoroughly examined, including the presence of organizational conflicts, deviations, and resistance to change, the necessity of adapting fundamental provisions to the conditions of specific enterprise’s activities, iterative nature of implementation, etc. It is shown that such phenomena during implementation are common and one of the variants of the norm; therefore, their occurrence is entirely expected, and enterprise management should be prepared for them.
