The article examines modern aspects of the formation and growth of the competitiveness of the livestock industry and its products in the context of globalization, intensified international competition, and the transformation of Ukraine’s agricultural sector. The role of livestock farming as a strategic component of the national economy, ensuring the state’s food security, rural development, employment, and the creation of value added through the processing of animal products, is substantiated. Scientific approaches to interpreting the essence of the industry’s competitiveness are summarized, and key internal and external factors that affect its level are identified. A SWOT analysis of the competitiveness of domestic livestock farming was conducted, allowing for the identification of the industry’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as the outlining of promising opportunities and potential threats to its development. Using the expert assessment method, an analysis of the impact of economic, technological, institutional, social, environmental, and integration factors on the industry’s competitive positions was conducted. It was established that the main constraining factors remain high production costs, insufficient technological renewal, limited development of processing infrastructure, and insufficient adaptation to modern environmental requirements. Priority areas for increasing the competitiveness of the livestock industry and its processed products are substantiated, including technological modernization of production, digitalization of business processes, development of breeding, improvement of processing capacities, support for innovative activities, development of agricultural cooperation, strengthening of export potential, and harmonization of national standards with the requirements of the European Union. It has been proven that implementing the proposed measures will increase industry efficiency, strengthen its competitive advantages in domestic and foreign markets, and ensure food security and the sustainable development of Ukraine’s agricultural sector.
