The training of highly qualified specialists is one of the priority tasks of sustainable economic development of the state and its security. The purpose of this publication is to draw the attention of the state administration of Ukraine to the opportunities to improve the quality of training specialists in the specialty “geodesy and land management”. The scientific novelty of the research consists in an integrated approach to the development of mechanisms for improving the quality of specialist training by: forming separate educational and professional programs in geodesy and land management and creating professional inter-university educational and scientific associations on public grounds; creation of an experienced expert environment for evaluation of the educational process; ensuring adequate, in accordance with the current state of the state economy, assessment of the work of scientific and pedagogical workers; increasing the efficiency of scientific and research works by reducing the tax pressure and increasing the coordinating role of the structural units of educational and scientific institutions. The studies presented in the publication indicate the feasibility of implementing the proposed provisions for evaluating the work of scientific and pedagogical workers. Depending on the number of students in the specialty, the salaries of scientific and pedagogical workers can, in some cases, reach the European average. Implementing some of the provisions we proposed requires further research, which will enable us to improve the quality of training for highly qualified specialists in Ukraine in the future. Based on the conducted study, the main conclusions are formulated. In the specialty “geodesy and land management” at the first level of training, there should be at least two separate educational and professional programs: “geodesy” and “land management”. The staff of the profiling department should consist of non-professionals who have a basic education in the field of specialist training. The quality of specialist training and the integrity of participants in the educational process are ensured by an appropriate assessment expressed in monetary terms. The introduction of modern Internet technologies and geodetic measurement tools into the educational process puts the task of fundamentally changing the structure of the disciplines’ educational work plans on the agenda.
