The article examines the role of the state in modern mixed economies, where its powers include ensuring defense, economic growth, and social justice, which directly affects the economic system. The central aspect is structural policy, which became relevant at the end of the twentieth century to overcome economic crises slowing growth, unemployment, and budget deficits. Attention is paid to the impact of labor and product market reforms on economic growth, which remains a subject of debate. The literature review indicates a wide range of research on structural policy at the international level. A significant part of the research concerns assessing the effectiveness of structural reforms in countries with different levels of socio-economic development, the analysis of which allows us to identify common challenges in implementing reforms. The article aims to substantiate the mechanisms of state regulation of structural transformations in the national economy, determine their impact on the redistribution of resources, ensure economic dynamics, and increase the effectiveness of structural policy, considering the social acceptability of structural reforms. Structural policies aim to reduce barriers to entry, stimulate competition, and help the economy adapt to changes related to the green economy and technological progress. However, historical analysis shows that the pace of reform remains uneven. One reason is the existence of benefits and losses among different economic groups, which affects the perception of reforms by society. International research results show low support for reforms, remarkably increasing competition, and the integration of migrants into the labor market. However, providing the public with reliable information helps to improve understanding and acceptance of changes. Practical methods are communication strategies that include consultation and negotiation, as well as compensatory measures aimed at reducing the negative impact of reforms in the short term. Social acceptability is an important factor in the success of structural reforms, but it should not be considered an end. Lack of understanding due to lack of information reduces the effectiveness of policies, but at the same time, resistance to reforms may have valid reasons. The conclusions emphasize the importance of a critical assessment of the costs and benefits of reforms for the formation of effective state policy and the growth of social welfare.
