The article is devoted to the issues of formation, functioning, and improvement of the land resource management system for agricultural business entities under conditions of increasing soil degradation, limited land resources, and the need to ensure the sustainable development of agricultural production. The relevance of the research topic is determined by the growing importance of land resources as a strategic asset for agricultural enterprises, the need to improve land-use efficiency, and the implementation of modern managerial, digital, and technological solutions in agricultural management. The aim of the study is to substantiate the theoretical foundations and to develop directions for improving land resource management systems for agricultural business entities. The article examines theoretical approaches to interpreting rational and irrational land resource management and their impact on the efficiency of agricultural enterprises. The author proposes a vision for the land resource management system as an integrated set of managerial methods, tools, and mechanisms that ensure planning, organization, use, control, and reproduction of the enterprise’s land bank. The study substantiates the feasibility of a comprehensive approach to land resource management that combines economic, organizational, technological, and environmental components and involves digitalization and the implementation of geographic information technologies. The stages of functioning of the land resource management system are substantiated, including land bank analysis, land use structure planning, land use organization, monitoring of soil condition and performance, and adjustment of management decisions. Key problems of irrational land use have been identified, including soil degradation, violation of crop rotations, inefficient structure of sown areas, and insufficient monitoring of land resource conditions. The study concludes that improving land resource management efficiency is possible through the implementation of digital technologies, geographic information systems, satellite monitoring, adaptive agricultural technologies, and scientifically based crop rotations. In general, the development of the land resource management system should be based on the principles of sustainable land use and a strategic approach to managing the enterprise’s land bank, ensuring increased productivity, environmental safety, and competitiveness of agricultural business.
