Russia’s full-scale invasion has caused colossal damage to Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, severely jeopardizing the stable functioning of the national economy and public welfare. Under these unprecedented conditions, ensuring systemic energy resilience has shifted from a technical task to a strategic national priority that requires comprehensive scientific inquiry. This study aims to investigate the complex mechanisms and practical tools to ensure the resilience of Ukraine’s energy system amid prolonged armed conflict and subsequent post-war reconstruction, while identifying priority directions for its transformation, taking into account green transition principles, technological modernization, and regulatory-financial realities. The research relies on a comprehensive, systemic approach, employing structural-logical and comparative analyses, scenario modeling, and the synthesis of recent empirical data and scientific literature from domestic and international scholars. Key operational threats to energy resilience were identified and classified across six interdependent dimensions: physical, resource, technological, financial, regulatory, and human capital. The study conceptualizes the post-war “window of opportunity”, proving that recovery must avoid reproducing outdated Soviet centralized architecture. Instead, priority is placed on establishing a distributed, flexible energy network driven by renewable energy sources, microgrids, Smart Grid infrastructure, and hydrogen technologies. Furthermore, a portfolio-based financial model integrating EU grants, green bonds, and public-private partnerships was structured, alongside an analysis of legislative barriers and severe personnel shortages. Achieving long-term energy resilience requires a synchronized strategy in which technological upgrades, regulatory adaptation to EU directives, cybersecurity, and human capital retention mutually reinforce one another to ensure Ukraine’s macroeconomic continuity and national security. As for the prospects for further research, it would be logical to focus on the mathematical calculation of the economic benefits of decentralization, the analysis of successful case studies involving the creation of autonomous energy islands (microgrids) in communities, and the study of how the digitalization of management affects the overall cyber resilience of Ukraine’s energy sector.
