The article is devoted to ensuring product quality across the product life cycle and examining the role of systematic quality management in the formation of competitive advantages for enterprises. The relevance of the research topic stems from the fact that today product quality is a powerful factor in ensuring enterprise competitiveness, increasing customer satisfaction, and forming sustainable market positions. The purpose of the study is to analyze and generalize approaches to ensuring product quality and to substantiate the peculiarities of quality management at different stages of the product life cycle. The article examines the main theoretical approaches to product quality management presented in the works of leading scholars. It has been found that the modern theory of quality management is characterized by a shift from control of finished products to comprehensive quality management across all stages of the product life cycle: from marketing research and design to production, sales, operations, and after-sales service. The study of the process of product quality formation revealed that its assurance is complex and involves the application of various managerial, organizational, and technological tools. Modern tools and methods of product quality management used in enterprise practice are investigated. The necessity of a comprehensive approach to product quality assurance, integrating quality management principles into all enterprise processes, is substantiated. The main quality management tools are analyzed, including Total Quality Management, Statistical Process Control, the Six Sigma methodology, Quality Function Deployment, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, and continuous improvement tools such as Kaizen, Lean manufacturing, the 5S system, and others. The study of the features that ensure product quality across different stages of its life cycle enabled the identification of specific quality management tasks, relevant control tools, and management subjects at each stage of product creation and use. It has been determined that a systematic approach to quality management contributes to increased efficiency in resource use, reduced defect levels, improved product characteristics, and the formation of long-term competitive advantages for enterprises.
