Digitalization is a powerful tool for shaping the competitiveness of regions, capable of ensuring economic growth, improving the efficiency of public administration, and promoting social integration in conditions of instability and challenges. Its successful implementation requires a systematic approach, coordination of efforts between central and local authorities, and the development of partnerships with business and the public sector. The transition to digital regional development should become a priority of state policy as a factor in modernizing the economy, increasing investment attractiveness, and ensuring the sustainable development of Ukraine’s regions. The article substantiates the role of digitalization as a key tool for shaping the competitiveness of Ukraine’s regions in the context of globalization, economic instability, and post-crisis recovery. The comprehensive impact of digital technologies on regional development is analyzed, covering areas such as the introduction of digital infrastructure, the development of e-government, the application of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, cloud technologies, and the integration of digital innovations into public administration, the economy, and the social sphere. The importance of developing digital literacy among the population, creating digital business ecosystems, and developing smart regions and interregional digital cooperation is emphasized. It was noted that the Digital Transformation Index of Ukrainian Regions is a comprehensive tool for assessing digital maturity, covering nine sub-indices and 82 indicators, focusing on infrastructure, digital services, e-government, and the development of digital competencies. Strategic directions for improving the digital competitiveness of regions were proposed, including the formation of regional digital strategies, stimulating the development of IT clusters, institutionalizing the digital transformation of local self-government bodies, strengthening digital education, expanding the use of innovative technologies in management, and developing interregional cooperation. It is determined that digital transformation is a necessary condition for ensuring sustainable economic growth, inclusive development, and global integration of Ukrainian regions.
