The study’s relevance stems from the need to improve the efficiency of Ukraine’s transport and logistics systems by overcoming regional development asymmetries, harmonizing logistics service standards with European requirements, and ensuring the integration of the national economy into global supply chains. It is well established that applying convergence theory enables the identification of “catch-up development” trends in less developed regions and the assessment of the effectiveness of state and regional policies in this area. The purpose of the study is to analyze scientific approaches and adapt convergence theory to assess interregional asymmetries in the development of Ukraine’s transport and logistics sector. Research methods. The study applies the concepts of σ- and β-convergence to analyze the dynamics of transport and logistics business development across Ukrainian regions, enabling a quantitative assessment of the level of convergence of regional systems, identification of “catch-up” trends, and evaluation of the effectiveness of public and regional policies in this area. Results. The σ-convergence assessment based on the value-added productivity indicator in the transport and logistics sector revealed a slight convergence during 2019–2023, indicating a formal reduction in interregional asymmetries. At the same time, the estimated β-convergence value indicates that initial differences in development levels do not significantly affect subsequent growth rates in the transport and logistics business across regions. The results identify determinants of regional disparities in the sector’s development and provide a basis for recommendations to reduce regional imbalances and enhance the industry’s overall competitiveness.
