The relevance of the research is determined by the transformational processes taking place in the higher education system of Ukraine within the framework of European integration, the digitalization of the economy, and the growing importance of innovation as a key factor in the competitiveness of graduates in both national and international labor markets. The formation of innovative competencies among higher education seekers is of particular importance due to the necessity of developing their creative thinking, the ability to apply modern technologies, initiate changes, and implement projects that correspond to the challenges of the globalized society. The study highlights the role of adapting the European experience in this area as a prerequisite for integrating the best practices of forming innovative competencies into the national education system. This fosters the development of entrepreneurial culture, interdisciplinary approaches, and skills for operating in conditions of uncertainty and rapid change. As Ukraine aspires to join the European educational area, enhancing innovative potential among students is seen as a crucial condition for ensuring sustainable socio-economic development and integration into global scientific and educational processes. Particular attention is paid to analyzing corporate governance competencies that shape the effectiveness of management processes in higher education institutions (HEIs). The study substantiates the importance of developing managerial competencies based on European corporate governance practices, which enable the formation of competitive educational services, improve institutional management quality, and ensure transparency and accountability in decision-making. The proposed systematization of HEI competencies, considering their functional characteristics and the specifics of the organizational environment, serves as a theoretical and practical basis for improving university management strategies in the context of innovation economy development. Thus, applying European experience in forming innovative competencies is a timely and significant research direction that contributes to the modernization of educational content, forms, and methods by the requirements of the information society.
