The article examines the problems and prospects of forming and implementing models of life support for territorial communities in the context of the digital economy. The state and modern challenges in the life support system of territorial communities under decentralization and considering the war in Ukraine are analyzed. Key issues identified include a high level of infrastructure wear and destruction, insufficient funding and inefficient use of budget resources, uneven development of urban and rural community infrastructure, a shortage of qualified personnel, irrational use of natural and economic resources, and a low level of digitalization and innovation activity. The level of digital readiness of territorial communities and the challenges of implementing digital technologies at the current stage of Ukraine’s development are explored. The experience of European countries in creating digital models of community life support based on the principles of open governance, service automation, and artificial intelligence in municipal management is reviewed. The article identifies the features of creating and adapting Smart management models for territorial development, the most common of which are the “Smart City” concept for urban areas and the “Smart Village” concept for rural communities. The essence and key components of the digital life support model are defined as an integrated management system that combines spatial-territorial, industrial, and social potential using modern information technologies. This model aims at competitive economic development, addressing current challenges, and ensuring high quality and safety of life for the population. The necessity of integrating information technologies into healthcare, education, transport, economy, and security to create a unified digital ecosystem for communities is emphasized. The prerequisites for successfully forming and implementing digital life support models for territorial communities are outlined.
