The article is devoted to the study and improvement of the methodological principles of monitoring and controlling the management system of an agricultural enterprise. The study aims to analyze, systematize, and improve the existing theoretical and methodological foundations for implementing monitoring and controlling systems and develop a methodology for their functioning. The article examines the theoretical and methodological principles of monitoring and controlling processes at agro-industrial enterprises as a key element of modern management. The study highlights the main aspects of monitoring to ensure timely tracking of key performance indicators and controlling to develop strategic and tactical management decisions. It describes the methodology for collecting, processing, and analyzing data, considering the specific characteristics of the agricultural sector, including seasonality, natural factors, and market conditions. The study substantiates the need to implement automated systems to improve the accuracy and speed of information processing, optimize production processes, and minimize risks. Principles of effective monitoring and controlling are identified, including systematicity, timeliness, objectivity, and flexibility, which are critical to ensuring the stability and competitiveness of enterprises. The research identifies key performance indicators of agricultural enterprises that most accurately reflect their condition and development dynamics. The primary data collection and processing methods, such as economic and statistical analysis, ERP systems, and business intelligence tools, are outlined, enhancing management transparency and decision-making efficiency. Recommendations are provided for adapting monitoring and controlling methodologies to the specific conditions of the agricultural sector, considering natural and climatic factors, production seasonality, and market price volatility. Emphasis is placed on the need for regular updates to criteria and analysis methods to maintain the obtained data’s relevance and the management system’s flexibility. The study confirms the expediency of a systematic approach to monitoring and controlling as integral elements of agricultural enterprise management. This ensures the stability of their operations, increases profitability and achieves strategic goals in a dynamic market environment.
