Abstract

Introduction. Foreign economic activity contributes to inflow into regions financial resources, introduction of modern technologies, domestic production competitiveness increase, creation of new workplaces, increase of qualification level of the personnel. The study of the structure and functions of foreign economic activity for the further expansion of international cooperation and socio-economic development of the country is relevant.

The purpose of the paper is to provide a scientifically substantiated generalization of the conceptual-categorical apparatus of foreign economic activity.

Results. The structure of the investigated concept is proposed on the base of analyzing and systematizing domestic legislation, international conventions, international legal acts, scientific works of many scientists, generalized scientific approaches to the definition of «foreign economic activity».

Conclusions. The functions of foreign economic activity are investigated both at the state level and at the level of subjects (participants). Perspectives of further research are regional peculiarities, regional structure of foreign economic activity, and research of its interconnections with economic development of territories.
