The article continues regular studies devoted to the creative economy and creative industries. It provides the general experience of developing creative industries in different countries to distinguish approaches, determine features, and consider them in Ukrainian realities. The theoretical-methodical basis of the study was the fundamental provisions of economic theory, regional economy, placement of productive forces, regional management, and scientific works of domestic and foreign scientists related to the development of the creative sector of the economy. The information base of the study became the normative acts of Ukraine and the countries of the European Union, official reports of relevant ministries, and research of domestic and foreign scientists in terms of the normal development of creative industries.

Based on the generalization of previously conducted research by authors of different countries, the presence of a classical approach, the essence of which is reduced to the triad of models of the development of creative industries, such as American, Scandinavian, and East Asian, is established. Based on the analysis of the features of the existing models, areas for improvement have been identified that complicate the decision-making process regarding the use of the advantages of one or another model in Ukrainian realities. The author’s approach to the development models of creative industries is proposed, which, unlike the existing one, involves separating four models: American, European, Scandinavian, and Asian. The article outlines the features of each of the proposed models. Those aspects that will contribute to the effective development of the Ukrainian creative sector have been identified. The scientific results presented for consideration are the basis for the Ukrainian model of developing creative industries. Prospects for further research lay in the specific features of the development of the creative sector in Western and Eastern Europe, as they have significant differences in the cultural and mental sphere and were formed in different periods under the influence of various factors.

Keywords: creative economy, creative industries, development of the creative sector of the economy, foreign experience.
