The article analyzes the basic foundations and principles of economic management under martial law. The essence of the interrelationship between politics and the economy and the critical requirements of the state in the conditions of war is revealed. The requirements of the society and the state to the national economy in the conditions of war and the principles of their adequate correspondence with the real capabilities of domestic productive forces are highlighted. The basic categories and methodology of economic management under martial law are characterized. The components that ensure the effective functioning of the economic system in the conditions of defense needs are defined and substantiated. The functional and reproductive structure of the military economy is a set of elements aimed at ensuring the country’s defense capability. The functionality includes planning, organization, management, and control over the use of resources. It covers such areas as the production of military equipment, the supply of weapons, the logistical support of military formations, and the mobilization of resources in crises. The reproductive structure is responsible for the constant renewal and development of the resource base necessary for the functioning of the military economy. Innovative technologies contribute to the modernization of the defense complex and the training of personnel potential for work in the military-industrial sphere. The connection between the research components is a key factor in the stability of Ukraine’s military economy. The functional structure ensures the practical implementation of the tasks assigned to the defense sector, while the reproductive structure creates conditions for the long-term maintenance of the defense potential. Thus, their harmonious interaction contributes to the achievement of strategic goals of national security. It is noted that in modern conditions, the formation of a military-economic concept is relevant, namely, the economic opportunities and requirements for ensuring the economy of the state during the war, as well as the state strategy of military security of Ukraine, the economic justification of measures and principles that must be followed to ensure effectiveness.
